“All who wander are not lost” – J.R.R. Tolkien
When we spend so much time rushing from appointments, games, classes, or rehearsals that we forget what it’s like to just mosey and wander with an unrushed pace. In Amador, we invite you to wander through history in our history filled towns at your pace of choice with as many stops as necessary to just soak in the moment.
Plymouth has an interactive self guided walking tour throughout the Main Street. The Plymouth Foothills Rotary has created a wonderful way to immerse yourself into the history of Main Street Plymouth. Scanning QR codes on the plaques will take you to audio or video that introduce you to the people of our community and their stories that should be shared for years to come.
A short walk from Rest Hotel in Plymouth to the town cemetery at the top of Church Street is the perfect vantage point for our amazing sunsets and to learn a bit about the history of those from Plymouth.
Long strolls through Amador’s historic towns are filled with one of a kind stores and treasures to be found as well as walking history tours. The towns of Jackson, Sutter Creek, Volcano and Amador City have self guided historic walking tours available.
“The Truth is, we all get lost as we try to find our way. Perhaps the key is to stop, take a look around and enjoy the scenery as we go.” ― JaTawny Muckelvene Chatmon, Getting Lost
