What's Happening in Amador County California

Plymouth is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and is located on Historic Highway 49 just south of Placerville.

When you visit Plymouth you can enjoy our beautiful surroundings while visiting the many wineries in the adjacent Amador and El Dorado Wine Country.  If you prefer other activities there are historic museums, parks and towns to explore.  Lakes and rivers to paddle, hike and fish. Mountians to hike, ski, snowshoe, bike ride and snowmoblie.  Arts are alive and well in our area with numerous art galleries, music venues and live theater.  Any time of year you will find the perfect adventure in Amador.

June 15 - July 20 every Friday 6pm-9pm - Dancin' In The Street - Saturday nights in the summer in Amador City is the place to get your groove on. Fantastic bands to get you movin’, and delicious foods and drinks.

June 23 - 3:30pm-5:30pm - Create Your Own Onsie at Made in Amador - Andrea Weigand of Olivelle Designs will walk each guest through designing custom HTV designs for a set of 3 onesie's. 
June 28 5pm - 9pm - Helwig at Dusk - Join us and relax from the week's endeavors, let your hair down, and enjoy live music and award winning wines, sold by the glass or bottle. During this gorgeous time of year, the party happens in our beautiful outdoor Pavilion
June 29 - 11am - 1pm - Introduction to Embroidery at Made in Amador - Made In Amador's Amy Clingan will walk guests through the process of embroidering a custom text or flower scene. Each guests will be provided supplies to complete a 5" wide embroidery hoop. There will be a few design options available at class.
June 30 - 11am - 1pm - Flag Shirt Screen Printing at Mad in Amador - Learn how to make a DIY screen and how to screen print shirts yourself! Each guests just needs to bring a shirt of their own to screen print with white ink. This class will cover some basic Cricut techniques too.
June 30 - 3pm - 5pm - Flag Rag Wreath at Made in Amador - Make a patriotic wreath using recycled fabric. Each guest will go home with a 18" wreath.
July 4 - 12pm - 2pm - Ribbon & Lace Flag Tapestry at Made in Amador - Make a patriotic flag tapestry to celebrate the 4th of July. Kids can help with this class! Each guests will make a 20" wide flag using red & white ribbon and lace along with a blue patch for the stars.

July 4 - 10am - 3pm - Terra d'Oro/Montevina Winery - Annual Cru-Zin in the Vineyard! Mark your calendar for this day of fun in the sun featuring live music, BBQ, wine and of course CARS! 

August and September every Thursday - Plymouth Community Market in the town park 4pm - 7pm - music, food, produce, crafts, wine and beer tasting

Beginning in March Every Friday and Saturday through October - Tour the historic grounds of the Kennedy Mine in Jackson - Kennedy Gold Mine

Preston Castle in Ione - Tour the majestic site full of mystery and history most Saturdays April - August.  Special events throughout the year. 

The Second Saturday of each month the Historic Knight's Foundry is open for tours at 10am, 12pm and 2pm
